Golden Pea and Sweet Potato Soup

Golden Pea and Sweet Potato Soup (Serves 6)

1 cup yellow split peas
3/4 cup diced konion
1/4 cup minced garlic
1 cup diced carrots
3 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced leeks
1 qrt chicken broth or vegetable broth
1 bay leaf
2 tsp light soy sauce
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp tumeric

Cook everything together about 1 hour covered until tender. Puree.
Note: I cook all day in the crockpot, then puree and put back into the crockpot. This soup is very smooth and comforting.
